What is Chaga?
Chaga, orInonotus obliquus, is a species of fungi growing on trunks of deciduous trees, usually harvested from birch bark. Despite the fact that its natural area of occurrence is a large part of the Northern Hemisphere, in many places the species is considered endangered due to the shrinking of natural habitat areas. One of the best-preserved regions of occurrence is the virgin regions of Siberia in East Asia, where for many years Chaga mushrooms were known in traditional folk medicine recipes.
Society shows Chaga's mushrooms interest due to presence of their active ingredients, such as: humic acids, melanins, polysaccharides, beta-glucans, polyphenols, as well as trace elements and vitamins.
What is a chromogenic complex?
Each Chaga extract has a complex chemical composition of many different substances, including polysaccharides, beta-glucans, polyphenols, vitamins and minerals. However, only wild Chaga mushrooms contain the so-called chromogenic complex, i.e. a natural composition of humic acids and melanin.
Although the vast majority of extracts available on the market are standardized to polysaccharides, it is actually the chromogenic complex that is the essence of wild-growing Chaga mushrooms. Unprocessed, naturally growing Chaga mushroom contains about 15% of the chromogenic complex.
Where do we get our extract from and what distinguishes it?
The Chaga mushrooms from which our extract is made are harvested only from the bark of birch trees growing wild in the sparsely populated and unindustrialized areas of Siberia. The lack of industry and the harsh climatic conditions make our Chaga free from pollution and full of nutrients.
Unlike many mushroom-derived products available on the market, our extract is made only from wild-growing Chaga mushrooms., which provides a high content of the chromogenic complex (40%).
